About

Focus On Oxford is a local independent political action committee (PAC) supporting candidates and efforts that are family-focused, pro-parental rights, and respect the constitution of the United States.

Ready for School

Mission

Focus On Oxford is committed to empowering parents to be actively involved with their children's education while ensuring the curriculum they are being taught is both appropriate and relevant.

We believe that the school's job is to teach our children how to think based on material that is factual, historical, and unbiased.

Our children will be competing in a challenging marketplace.  While the US faces declining test scores, high drop-out rates, and graduates who are not prepared for the workforce, we are failing our children.

The increase in government involvement, the increase in standardized curriculum development, and the increase of control of teaching methods has not shown any measure of improvement in our children’s success or career readiness.

Vision

Oxford Schools need a board with grit and determination to guide our district through the coming years.  As our community and children continue to heal, we need to be forward-focused.

Key Issues:

  • Safety - Taking every step possible to ensure our children are safe needs to be a priority.

  • Pro-Parent - Parents know their children best and because we believe in individual responsibility, trust parents to make the right decisions for their children.

  • Fiscal Responsibility - With an ever-swelling 82 million dollar budget, we need to make sure that our dollars actually result in measurable improvements.

  • Transparency - We need a board to be open and honest with information.

American Flags

Curriculum

Focus On Oxford believes in a curriculum for K-12 education that emphasizes the importance of traditional values, critical thinking, and rigorous academic standards. We believe that a strong foundation in reading, writing, and arithmetic is crucial for academic success, and that students should be taught about American exceptionalism, the importance of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and the values of individualism and self-reliance. We also believe in the importance of character education, teaching students about respect, responsibility, and the value of hard work. Oxford Schools curriculum must provide students with a strong understanding of history and world events, as well as a focus on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education. We believe that a traditional Oxford School curriculum promotes independent thought and critical thinking, and prepares students to be informed, engaged citizens who are equipped to succeed in the modern world.
